Harvest News

We are now in the third week of August and we are just under half way through our harvest after starting on the 28th July with the Oilseed Rape. The weather has on the whole has been good to us however there have been periods each week where harvesting operations have come to a standstill for a couple of days due to wet weather. The harvesting of the oilseed rape was followed by harvesting a block (220 hectares) of milling wheat and at present the combine is working its way through the spring malting barleys. All the crops so far have been yielding well above the farm averages and consequently putting pressure on the available grain storage space, a situation we cannot complain too much about.
